Language is a powerful tool for clarification and illumination, but it can be very limiting when you attempt to use it to describe matters of the heart and spirit. I believe color, form and texture are highly effective for creating that moment of "aha!" with others.

In examining my work, I would like for you to find the ways in which your heart and soul connect with it in comparison or even contrast to mine. There will be differences. There will be similarities. Ultimately, my hope is these paintings can provide a focal point for meditation from which you will come away renewed and perhaps with a fresh perspective.

I strongly encourage you to examine your own reactions to the pieces and decide for yourself what it means to you. There's no right or wrong on this. That's the reason I love art in all its forms -- it allows us to find our own truths and to share those truths with one another.
